In today's instalment of the Yearbook we've got Shiki Ryougi from Kara no Kyoukai. I wasn't familiar with the character before, but when the patron who requested her told me about her special ability, the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, I knew I wanted to do something special with that. (I love painting eyes.) So going a little rougher than usual, I thoroughly wrapped her up in tape, leaving just one eye exposed to stare up at the viewer.

Drawing her hair with the tape holding it down was pretty difficult. Given how poofy anime hair tends to be (and don't get me wrong, I adore it), it can really color your perception of the shape of a character's actual head.

The low angle was an intentional challenge to myself since I've always had trouble with this sort of thing. I've also never been happy with the way I draw tape before, so I spent a lot of time trying to make it look really good using the works of Magnolia-Baillon as an example. I'd say the results are pretty cool, right? ^.^

Bonus: There's almost always a little extra that I draw outside the border, but in this case I went further than usual to help me visualize the angle, and I ended up keeping that much all the way to the end. So please enjoy her tape-wrapped body~

Ooh, this might be my favorite yearbook entry yet! I might not know who Shiki is but the other 3 are delightful! ^^

I didn't really know her either, but that's half the beauty of this project, getting to know more girls to tie up ^.^
