#002. Mio Naruse

The Testament of Sister New Devil

Mio Naruse

成瀬澪

The Testament of Sister New Devil (新妹魔王の契約者)
First appearance: 2012

2023/10/11: Having uploaded the 5th anniversary redraw on October 5, I figure it's time to finally give some commentary on this one. It didn't have any originally because the first few Yearbook drawings were uploaded differently.

Mio is really the first Yearbook damsel, because she was the first one I sketched. Sophitia just ended up being finished earlier because that turned into a full drawing, before I had any idea the Damsel Yearbook would become a thing outside of my sketches!

I'm fairly certain I just asked Nothles for a girl to draw and he responded with Mio, because he's a big fan of The Testament of Sister New Devil. Of course, at this point I was not any good at drawing big boobs, so I don't think he got what he wanted out of it, heheh.

Redrawing it five years after the original sketch, you can obviously see how my skills have improved. But that isn't the only point of change. Originally I used art from the anime and the early light novels as a reference, but the artist for the books, Nekosuke Ookuma recently released a new art pack featuring the Testament characters, which I looked at this time. Their art style has also changed over the years, so the passage of time is presented in two different ways.

It's a small detail, but it really spices up the portraits 👌

Hehehe, thank you! It'd be a big shame not to show off those lovely boobs, wouldn't it?

Drewmlin

Couldn't agree more. Can't let the assets go to waste! :nosebleed:
